This event is sponsored by Golden Gate Railroad Museum and the Pacific Locomotive Association as a fundraiser to support the continued restoration of historic artifacts and rail line.
Grab your friends and family and come out for a ride behind a vintage steam locomotive, Southern Pacific No. 2472, as the train travels through scenic Niles Canyon. It's a perfect way to get away from it all. Plus, a special stop will be made in the canyon to watch and photograph the steam train going by. It will be memorable event for the whole family as the steam train rushes by before coming back to pick you up to return you to Sunol.
C L A S S E S O F S E R V I C E
COACH CLASS
A trip in Coach Class on a Golden Gate Railroad Museum excursion is a great way to enjoy your journey. Grab a spot in one of the open-air cars and sit back, relax and feel the wind in your hair as you travel through beautiful Niles Canyon. Coach Class is excellent option for families as well as there is plenty of seats to sit together as an entire family. Child tickets are available for childen 3-12. Children 2 and under are free. For Safety children must not run through the train.
COACH CLASS SERVICE INCLUDES:
Unreserved seating in family-friendly open-air cars or in historic "Harriman" coaches
Snacks and beverages available for purchase
Great option for groups with various ages
Handicapped access is limited
FIRST CLASS
Travel in style in First Class on a Golden Gate Railroad Museum excursion. This car, No. 2979, the Neil M. Vodden, has been refurbished to its 1940’s appearance and features air conditioning and a circular mahogany beverage bar framed by etched glass and mirrors. View details about this vintage car here.

EXECUTIVE CLASS
For a truly exceptional experience, book your next ticket in Executive Class and travel aboard the former Southern Pacific Business Car No. 141, the Oakland built in 1927 by the Pullman Company. No minors, adults only. No handicap access. View details about this historic car here.
